X is almost here!

It's almost time for the public unveiling of X! We're going to kick it off with an event that embodies the spirit of X -- blending elements of a party, a play, a puzzle, and an outdoor adventure.
When's it happening? Soon... just a few more weeks for the pieces to come together. Keep your eyes open, and the exact date and location of the first X event will appear!
If you're the first to find out the details, then be sure to post a mesage here to clue everyone else in on the news. In the meantime, we're going to put out more copies of the Clues, along with other signs of X, to help you figure out the mystery.
What is X? Finding the Clues and talking about them on this site is the first step. But the rest will only become clear once we're face-to-face, experiencing the excitement and power of X firsthand.

Here, There, and Everywhere
We'll be posting further Clues at both the SIU campus and elsewhere in Carbondale. We may even post some out at John A Logan if our X enthusiast out there has the opportunity to do so. When we do post them, we'll be sure that each of those "zones" has at least a few copies of each Clue so that nobody gets left out.
So far, most of the Clues (about 90%) have been posted on campus at SIU. Most of those have been on bulletin boards, but not all. Some of the more creative spots on and off campus have included:
As the big event draws closer, we're going to increase our off-campus presence, continue our on-campus presence, and put Clues and other signs in more curious places. Look for large or conspicuous X's in prominent or unexpected spots. Once we have the exact date and location set for our kick-off, we'll let the whole town know by putting out a final Clue and spreading the news by word of mouth (and on this site).
We're already having fun with X, so we have high hopes that the official kick-off will be a blast! I've talked about it with some of my friends who aren't in on the mystery, and they've all seen the signs and are very curious to discover what will come of it. The Clues will make it all more clear, and everything will be revealed at the big event. In the meantime, feel free to talk more here, and stay on the lookout for what's coming.
